DLO Intros Black, Silver Versions of TransPod for iPod
Thursday, June 9th, 2005 at 3:00 PM - by Brad Cook
Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (DLO) on Thursday added to its product line silver and black versions of its TransPod Direct Car Solution for iPod and iPod mini. The US$69.99 device, which is also still available in its original white, features a built-in charger, a cassette adapter for playing music through a car stereo, a mini plug cable and a cradle for holding the MP3 player.
The TransPod connects to the stereo through the 30-pin port on the bottom of the iPod, which DLO says is better than connecting through the headphone jack. The mini plug cable is there for users who would prefer to connect to their car stereos that way, rather than the cassette adapter. The TransPod's mounting arm swivels the unit 360 degrees. It's compatible with any 3G and 4G iPods and iPod minis that have dock connectors on the bottom.
DLO also offers the TransPod FM All-in-One, which offers the same functionality but plays music through an FM frequency on a car stereo. It's $99.99.
