Fastmac Ships Better 4G iPod Battery Upgrade

Fastmac on Monday began shipping a better battery upgrade for the 4G iPod. According to the company, the US$29.95 battery upgrade features 20 to 70% more capacity than Apple's battery, along with 7.5 times as many charge cycles. Fastmac includes the necessary tools for installing the battery and also offers 24-hour installation service for $39.95.

Fastmac also announced on Monday that it will include a free travel charger or cigarette lighter adapter with all iPod battery purchases through Aug. 31. The company also sells battery upgrades for all other iPod models.
