Google & Ebay Come to iPhone

Internet giants Google and Ebay both released dedicated clients for the iPhone Thursday. Both apps offer an interface for using their respective online services that is customized for the iPhone.

The first thing that jumped out at us about Google Mobile App is the presence of "intelligent Google query completion," which is basically Googleis attempt to figure out what you are looking for as you type. Those options appear as you are typing, adjusting with each additional letter you type. It will make many searches faster for some users.

Google Mobile App will also use your current location, if you allow it to, in order to provide search results, say for "coffee house," that are near you.

Google Mobile App is free from the App Store.

Ebay Mobile is also a solid-looking attempt to maximize iPhoneis limitations (smaller screen than a computer, no external keyboard) into the best possible user experience for Ebayis services. All so you can buy other peopleis stuff when youire driving to grandmais house or at work, but thatis another story.

With Ebay Mobile, you can keep track of all the auctions you are watching, search for new items, add those to your watch list, place bids, track what youive won or sold, and quickly see where youive been outbid. Searches work like they do in a normal Web browser, but the results have been tailored for the iPhone or iPhone touch screen.

Ebay Mobile is free on the App Store.
