Griffin Expands into PSP Accessories Market

Griffin Technology, a company well-known to most iPod owners, on Friday announced three new products for use with Sony’s PlayStation Portable (PSP): the iFM radio tuner/remote control; the SmartShare audio splitter; and the iTrip FM transmitter.
The iFM (US$49.99) features digital auto station scan with wraparound and six station presets, as well as a band-switch function for moving between U.S., European and Japanese FM bands.
SmartShare ($14.99) includes a volume control slider in each output jack, so both users can set independent sound levels.
Like the iTrip for iPod, the iTrip FM Transmitter for PSP ($49.99) enables users to broadcast audio from the device over an empty FM frequency. It features a large display that makes the frequency easier to read. While the PSP is not marketed as an audio player, users can load music on a Memory Stick and place it in the device. The PSP can also play movies that are sold on UMD media.
