Griffin Introduces "Evolve Wireless Sound System" for iPod

Griffin Technology announced that it has begun shipping its Evolve Wireless Sounds System for iPod. The device is a powered dock for iPod that drives remote speakers, wirelessly, up to 150 ft (45 m.) away.
Griffin said that the Evolve is the first widely available digital sound system for iPod (and other digital devices) that features rechargeable and wireless remote speakers. The devices is particularly suitable for the home or workplace where power and speaker wires would be inconvenient.

The base unit has a digital dock for iPod and analog RCA jacks for other players. The speakers use rechargeable, internal lithium-ion batteries that will play up to 10 hours per charge. It also comes with its own RF remote control.
The Griffin Evolve is available exclusively through its distribution partner Best Buy. It is priced at US$299.99.
