J.D Power: Consumers Want More Audio Options in Their Next Vehicles

J.D. Power and Associates on Wednesday issued its 2006 U.S. Automotive Emerging Technologies Study, revealing that 60% of iPod owners would pay US$150 to have iPod connectivity in their next vehicles, while 54% of all consumers would like a $100 USB port for music and 58% would like a $100 in-vehicle hard drive for storing music files.

"Employing these technologies in new vehicles could help auto manufacturers in their efforts to attract and maintain younger buyers," Larry Wu, J.D. Power's senior director of automotive product and quality research, said in a press release. The study was based on responses from over 17,000 U.S. consumers.
