Kensington Intros Five New iPod Products

Kensington on Thursday unveiled five new accessories for the iPod: SX 2000 Speakers, Micro FM Transmitter, Digital FM Radio and FM Transmitter, Travel Plug Adapter with USB Charger and Transporters for iPod shuffle. The company noted that the first three products work with the new iPod nano.

SX 2000 Speakers for iPod (US$159.99) were designed to complement the iPod and iPod nano, although they're compatible with most MP3 players. They feature NXT's SurfaceSound technology, which improves the bass and balances the sound overall. They come with the iPod Universal Dock, which works with any iPod that has a dock connector.

Micro FM Transmitter for iPod ($49.99) works with any iPod that has a dock connector; it will transmit an iPod's music to any FM radio. The Digital FM Radio and FM Transmitter for iPod ($79.99) offers the same compatibility but enables users to listen to FM radio stations on their iPods, in addition to transmitting music to an FM radio. It features a seek function that finds the clearest FM frequency, along with four presets.

Travel Plug Adapter with USB Charger ($39.99) can plug into outlets in up to 150 countries and charge an iPod, or other USB-powered device, as well as devices that use AC power. It includes a safety release button and a built-in fuse that protect devices.

Finally, Transporters for iPod shuffle ($19.99) enable users to slide the diminutive device over a belt or waistband or snap it into a briefcase or handbag. They include locking caps that protect the iPod shuffle's USB port.

Product pages were not available on Kensington's Web site as The iPod Observer posted this article.
