Macally Intros Four New iPhone, iPod Accessories

Macally on Tuesday took the wraps off four new accessories for the iPhone and iPod: TunePro, an audio speaker with alarm clock; FlexTune, a portable speaker system; BTCUP, an FM transmitter with Bluetooth connectivity; and PowerLink, a three-in-one USB adapter. All four will be showcased during this weeks Macworld Expo in San Francisco and will ship next month.

TunePro (US$99), which is also available for the iPod, features NXT flat panel loudspeaker and SRS WOW technology for 3D audio, according to Macally. It also offers an alarm clock and AM and FM radio.

FlexTune ($59.99) offers vertical as well as horizontal orientation, allowing the user to turn an iPhone or iPod touch vertically to watch widescreen movies. Ut features 1500mW power output per channel, along with buttons for play, pause, next, previous, stop, and volume functions. It runs on an AC adapter or four AA batteries.

BTCUP ($99), which is also available for the iPod, is an FM transmitter that also allows users to answer their iPhone hands-free while driving. BTCUP automatically switches from music to phone when a call comes in and switches back when the conversation is over. An earphone is included for call privacy.

Finally, PowerLink ($59.99) is a three-in-one USB adapter that charges any iPhone or iPod and can sync the device to a computer. It can also be used as a memory stick for storing files.

As iPod Observer posted this article, pages for PowerLink and FlexTune were not yet available on Macallys Web site. The BTCUP and TunePro pages had also not yet been changed to reflect iPhone and iPod touch compatibility.
