More Zune Myths

Earlier in October, Daniel Eran listed his ten iPod vs. Zune myths on his Roughly Drafted blog, and now he has a new list with five more. Mr. Eran writes "Heres a look at the whimpers of jilted executives, painful marketing drivel and fan speak, the geeky in-jokes, as well as the market realities and technical problems facing everyone's favorite iPod Killer."

  • Myth 1: Microsoft's iPod killer is ... Zuma
  • Myth 2: Zune makes a good verb
  • Myth 3 : The Zune isn't just another poorly constructed piece of crap
  • Myth 4: Microsoft can work out their iPod Killer's kinks over the next few years
  • Myth 5: Microsoft can afford an extended failure

In the new myth list, Mr. Eran said that by releasing what many consider to be a sub-par music player, Microsoft is going to lose some credibility along with a lot of money. Although the company can afford to lose the cash, the hit to its reputation will be more difficult to recover from. He states "Microsoft needs to focus on things it can do well rather than create another a failed product introduction and a huge public relations disaster."

You can read his new list of five Zune myths on the Roughly Drafted blog.
