NBC Will Allow Personal Websites to Link Video Snippets

NBC, owned by General Electric, announced on Wednesday that it will allow personal Websites to use a small piece of HTML code to link back to their content, primarily snippets of TV shows, according to Reuters.

The snippets currently linked to are from "Access Hollywood," "NBC Nightly News," and "Dateline." The so-called "widget" code is being supported by Clearspring technologies.

This is not new. In the past, NBC has allowed personal Websites to post some its shows like "Saturday Night Live" in a effort to reach out to viewers who spend lots of time on the Internet.

The link is achieved with a small amount of HTML code that is easily inserted onto a personal Web page. No details were provided on how to approach NBC.
