Dropping like a bomb on some of the blah musical offerings of her contemporaries, Haunted was one of the best albums of 2000, obliterating the competition.

- David Bowie
- It must be a lonely place to be considered David Bowie's worst album by just about everyone, including the artist himself. As the last album before Bowie "rebooted" and formed the band Tin Machine, "N

- Ray LaMontagne

- Massive Attack
"Black Milk" knocks me off my feet in this collection of moody and eclectic songs. Massive Attack uses samples and keyboards in a very unique way, but not all the songs pack the same punch.

NIH: Ear Damage From Excessive Volume ‘Needs More Study’
Monday, March 13th, 2006 at 2:00 PM - by Brad Cook
In a Feb. 14 letter made available on Tuesday, James Battney said that "more research is required to determine if a particular type (of earphone) increases the risk [to hearing]," according to a Reuters article. Mr. Battney is the director of the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), which is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Mr. Battney was responding to a request from Representative Edward Markey (D-MA), who said that he is working with fellow Representative Mike Ferguson (R-NJ) to encourage the NIH to review research on the matter.
The issue came to the forefront in recent months given the increasing popularity of MP3 players -- since Apple's iPod is the top selling such device, it has been implicated as part of a possible hearing damage epidemic. Mr. Battney indicated the earbud headphones, which come with the iPod and similar devices, "project sound directly into the ear canal, while traditional earmuff-style headphones allow the sound to diffuse," the Reuters piece said.
However, Mr. Battney indicated that a 1990 NIDCD conference said that "sounds of sufficient intensity and duration could damage the ear and result in temporary or permanent hearing loss at any age."
