NOPI TV: Firebird International Raceway

Once again, the free pickings are slim at the iTunes Store; slim but not entirely gone. If you are the type who likes his or her cars tricked out and fast, and your models scantily clad and faster then you are going to love what's free at the iTunes Store this week. If not, we also found some free music, so feel free to skip to the bottom.

From NOPI TV there is a free 21 minute episode of the NOPI race series, this one featuring everything from front-wheel drive dragsters, to pimped-out street-rods, all captured at the Firebird International Raceways in Phoenix, Arizona.

I'm not a huge race fan, but I can appreciate a good body as well as the next guy, and some of the vehicles on display are drool-inducing monsters that were meticulously tricked with all sorts of accessories.

What? You thought I was referring to good bodies of the more feminine persuasion? I can appreciate them too, and there's plenty to appreciate as pointed out by host Charity Hodges. Swimsuit competition, soap-foam parties, Jello wrestling are all part of the festivities.

And there's actually some racing going on as well. Dragsters of every type vie for the title of fastest in their class. Meanwhile, check out the drift demos as cars negotiate turns by sliding sideways, or the burnout competition where maximum smoke is the name of the game.

It all looks like a lot of fun in the Arizona sun (and rain, unfortunately). It's a bunch of boys with expensive toys, so don't expect any cerebral stimulation. Charity Hodges won't leave you with the impression that she knows anything about the cars or the people behind them, her brief interviews are fluff, but she points out the activities well enough, which is good enough I suppose.

If you are really interested in seeing some great looking cars you should slide on over to EarthFlix and check out the 'Auto' link. Now THERE are some hot cars for you! While you can find some iPod compatible video, most of EarthFlix downloads are high resolution and would have to be converted to play on your iPod using QuickTime Pro or some other conversion software. Even so, it is well worth a look.

Still, if you're looking for a brief, mindless diversion check out the free NOPI TV Firebird International Raceway download. It's free, so the price is right.

Can I Get That (Hyphy Remix) Can I Get That (Hyphy Remix) 408 Rap/Hip Hop

This track from 408 boasts production from the hyphy pioneer, Traxamillion - resulting in some monstrous electro-funk. The club-ready vocals do a nice back-and-forth which you can either take to the dance floor or to somewhere a bit...quieter. 'Can I Get That?' Yes, you can.
