    • Spoon
    • Gimme Fiction by Spoon is a terrific album by an Austin band that I was lucky enough to catch on an Austin radio station during a Christmas visit.

    • Amon Tobin
    • The genius is in the beats. Amon Tobin creates fantastic, groovy beats behind beats. "Supermodified" rolls through your expectations of breakbeat music, and turns them up a bit. It's a mellow album, p

    • Goldfrapp
    • On their latest CD, Supernature, Goldfrapp has put together a successful mix of 1980-era New Romanticism, German cabaret, and T. Rex glam that leaves you riveted even through the album's lulls. It's a great amalgam that sounds current without sounding at all dated.

New York Teen Stabbed to Death for iPod

Two New York teenagers have been arrested, accused of killing a 15-year-old for his iPod.

Christopher Rose was attacked on Saturday evening in Brooklyn by a group of young men. According to police reports, the attackers demanded Roses' iPod, which he had borrowed from a friend, and stabbed him twice in the chest when he refused to surrender it.

Samuel Darran, 16, and Daryl Stephen, 17, have been arrested and face charges of murder, robbery and weapons possession, according to the Associated Press.

The Rose case is not the first crime case in the Big Apple to involve an iPod. Police also have reported a wave of iPod robberies on city subways, saying in April that 50 iPods had been stolen this year, compared with none over the same period in 2004.
