Nissan, Mazda, Daihatsu to Offer In-Car iPod Support in Japan

Apple Computer announced Wednesday that Nissan, Mazda, and Daihatsu will all be adding in-car iPod support in Japan. This is in addition to BMW, Mini, smart, and Alfa-Romeo, all of whom already offered iPod support in their automobiles in the Japanese market.

"We're delighted to have such a wide variety of car companies in Japan offering iPod integration," Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing, said in a statement. "iPod is the number one digital music player in Japan and more music lovers than ever can now enjoy a seamless iPod music experience in their car."

Today's announcement coincided with the launch of the iTunes Music Store in Japan, and the opening of a new Apple Store in Tokyo. Details of the offerings from the auto makers will be forthcoming.
