Nokia Denies Deal With Apple on iTunes-Ready Phone

Mobile phone maker Nokia is denying reports that it will soon release a mobile phone with the capability to play music via iTunes, a published report said Thursday.
Nokia executives told Reuters it had no agreement with Apple Computer, but that "because of the design of the new N-series phones, software developers could readily produce programs to allow the gadgets to use services like iTunes."
"We are not making any exclusive arrangements with any music store, but believe that we want to give the consumer the choice of where they want to purchase their music," said Kari Tuutti, spokesman for Nokia's multimedia division.
The report squelches an earlier report from the Finnish daily Taloussanomat Nokia would bring iTunes to the N91 model.
