Rumor: iPhone to Launch June 15
Sunday, May 6th, 2007 at 4:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
As June draws closer, more iPhone launch date rumors surface. The latest points to supposed leaked AT&T memo that pegs the date as June 15 - the last day of Apples World Wide Developer Conference. The memo dated May 4 appeared on The Boy Genius Report over the weekend. It stated that no employee vacation would be approved for dates between June 15 and July 15 to "ensure proper staffing during the product launch period."
So far Apple has stated that the iPhone launch will happen in June, but hasnt offered any additional clues to point to a specific date. Despite Apples tight lips, many were already speculating that the company might release the combination iPod and smart phone during its developer conference since it will not be shipping Mac OS X 10.5, or Leopard, at that time.
Per company policy, Apple representatives are not able to comment on products that have not yet shipped, so well just have to wait until June 15 to see how accurate the AT&T memo really is.
