At first, Ray LaMontagne might strike you as just another breathy-voiced knockoff of folk/rock guitarists like John Mayer and Jack Johnson. But he's actually got a better voice than either, he tell

Rumor: iPod nano Redesign On the Way
Sunday, August 24th, 2008 at 4:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
Apples iPod nano is about to get a new look, according to Digg founder Kevin Rose. Along with new nanos, Apple is apparently getting ready to update the iPod touch and release iTunes 8.0 before the end of September.
Mr. Rose claimed his sources have confirmed that the redesigned iPod nano will sport a wide screen display along with a rectangular body shape that more closely resembles the second generation model. The new iPod touch, however, will only receive minor cosmetic changes.
According to Mr. Roses unnamed sources, iTunes will see a significant update with its version 8 launch. The new version is said to be a "big update" with several new features, and will not be just a bug fix release.
iPod touch Software 2.1 will apparently ship soon, too, and iPhone Software 2.1 will follow shortly after. Along with software and hardware updates, the iPod line will also get an across-the-board price cut to separate it from the iPhone line.
If Mr. Roses sources are correct, September looks to be an exciting month for iPod fans.
