Sprint Terminates 1,200 Nagging Customers
Monday, July 9th, 2007 at 4:00 PM - by John Martellaro
Some Sprint customers seem to be so high maintenance that they have to call customer service repeatedly for assistance. Sprints response was to terminate them, according to News 4 in Jacksonville.
In the week following Apples and AT&Ts phenomenal rollout of the iPhone, Sprint has found that a certain number of their customers are calling in too often and "making unreasonable requests." So 1,200 customers are being terminated and told to go elsewhere.
Sprint is one of the companies most at risk from the AT&T/Apple partnership.
Sprint said, in a statement, "Rather than continue to operate in a situation that was unsatisfactory for Sprint and our subscribers, we chose to terminate our relationship with those customers to allow them to pursue other options."
Apparently, Sprint has the right to terminate its customers on this basis. However, one Sprint customer was amazed. "I didnt even know you could do that with a contract. Thats astonishing," said Winston Bryant.
The nagging customers were told to find a new service, but they wont have to pay a termination fee. Many of them, no doubt, will become new AT&T and Apple customers.
