Touchscreen iPods May Come in August

Apple may be prepping to release a new video capable iPod with iPhone-like touchscreen technology as early as August. The order for the capacitive touch sensitive panels went to the Taiwan-based Wintek, which has supplied Apple with iPod components in the past, according to DigiTimes.
Apparently the news found its way to DigiTimes through "upstream sources." Wintek did not comment on the supposed deal with Apple claiming customer confidentiality.
Apple’s iPod product line is due for an update, and will most likely see a refresh before the end of year holiday buying season. While new models will most certainly see new features, Apple will probably steer clear of creating a product that is too similar to the recently released iPhone.
Keep in mind that this news comes from DigiTimes -- which has a spotty history with Apple product predictions -- so take it with an appropriate dosage of salt.
