Universal Announces "Battlestar Galactica" on HD DVD

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that they will release the original mini series and the entire first season of Battlestar Galactica on HD DVD for Christmas, according to High-Def Digest on Tuesday.
Universal is the only major studio that exclusively backs HD DVD.

The six-disc set will be released in 1080p video format, 1.78:1 and have Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 audio options. (Customers may want to check if their current or planned HD DVD player supports Dolby TrueHD, an uncompressed audio format.)
The set will have additional features such as video commentary and backgroud on the making of the series. The set will be priced at US$99.98.
