Utility Allows Users to Bypass iTunes for iPod shuffle
Thursday, July 14th, 2005 at 4:00 PM - by Bryan Chaffin
Martin J. Fiedler has released an update to iPod shuffle Database Builder, a utility that allows iPod shuffle users to bypass iTunes for managing the music on their shuffle units. The software allows users to load music onto their iPod shuffle through their Mac, Windows, or even Linux file management interface. "Due to the simple structure of the shuffle (compared to the »big« iPods), it is possible to use the player almost like any other USB flash MP3 player," said Mr. Fiedler at the products Web page. The download is a Windows .exe file, but for those with the geek skills, the raw scripts are available for compiling on your platform of choice. Thanks to our friends at iPodNN for the heads up on the update.
