Vector Intros Portable Power, FM Transmitters for iPod, Other Portable Devices

LAS VEGAS -- Vector Products Inc. has introduced at Consumer Electronics Show seven portable power and FM transmitter products for iPods, as well as other devices. The iMobile FM Audio Transmitter Charging Dock, which retails for between US$39.99 and $44.99, charges an iPod through a car’s 12-volt outlet and plays music over one of 14 preset FM radio stations.

The company also debuted two other iMobile Digital FM Audio Transmitters, which charge devices through a 12-volt outlet and play music over an FM frequency. One of them includes a built-in MP3 player with a USB port that enables users to play music from flash storage drives. It sells for $29.99 or $59.99 with a built-in MP3 player.

Vector’s three iMobile Vehicle Cup Power Converters convert a car’s 12-volt DC power to household 120-volt AC power. Users can plug in a laptop or cell phone, and a USB port is included for connecting iPods as well as other MP3 players, digital cameras and PDAs. 100-watt ($39.99) and 175-watt ($49.99) versions are available, as well as a 100-watt version with an FM transmitter ($69.99).

The company also revealed its iMobile Microslim AC/DC Power Pack ($149.99), which features a 100-watt power inverter and a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery pack. Users can extend the use of a laptop by up two hours when the unit is fully charged, or it can be plugged into a car’s 12-volt outlet for extended use. It includes a USB port for iPods and other devices.
