Wal-Mart Digital Media Exec Joins Apple

Wal-Mart’s former head of digital media, Kevin Swint, has moved on to bigger and better things now that he is joining Apple. Mr. Swint is scheduled to start with the Cupertino-based company this week to manage international movies and television for iTunes, according to paidContent.org.
This new gig will likely work out much better for Mr. Swint since Wal-Mart recently pulled the plug on its Web-based movie rental service leaving him with little to do.
While Wal-Mart lost its movie rental service and Mr. Swint, Apple gained an established contact with the studios -- and someone with the experience to know what not to do when managing an online movie business.
