AIM, BeejiveIM Add Push Support

AIM and BeejiveIM, two popular instant messaging clients for the iPhone and iPod touch, have been updated with support for iPhone OS 3.0 Push notifications. The updates alert users when new messages arrive even if the applications aren't active.
Push support lets applications display notifications even when they aren't running. The updates should make instant messaging more useful on Apple's handheld devices since users can perform other tasks without having to jump back to their IM client app to see if there are any waiting messages.
AIM for the iPhone and iPod touch is priced at US$2.99, or for free as an ad-supported version. BeejiveIM costs $9.99. The applications are available at Apple's iTunes-based App Store.
