Apple iPhone 3.0 Security Notes Detail 38 Fixes

Apple published an update note on the 38 security holes patched in iPhone Software 3.0. Those security fixes cover issues from CoreGraphics, to Mail, to Safari, to several issues involving the Webkit engine that powers Safari. The patch notes were first sent out to users in a security e-mail on Tuesday, and was published on the company's Web site Thursday.
Highlights include several CoreGraphics issues involving maliciously crafted images that could allow the bad guys to take control of your iPhone. Apple also patched an issue that could allow an alert in Mail to make a phone call (say to a 900 number) without user action).
The patch also fixes issues relating to maliciously crafted videos causing your iPhone to reboot, a problem in Safari that could allow someone with physical access to your iPhone to view your history, even if you wiped it, and several other issues that could allow the bad guys to take control of your iPhone.
