- Miles Davis
- The jazz album to end all jazz albums. Miles Davis and John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderly and the list goes on. The who's who of who's who in jazz have assembled for this monumental record. Get this
- Prefuse 73
- It's an album about a breakup, done with beats instead of mopey lyrics. But the beats are raw, and the emotions are there, even if there aren't many words on top of it. While possibly not Scott Herren
- Poe
Dropping like a bomb on some of the blah musical offerings of her contemporaries, Haunted was one of the best albums of 2000, obliterating the competition.

- Goldfrapp
On their latest CD, Supernature, Goldfrapp has put together a successful mix of 1980-era New Romanticism, German cabaret, and T. Rex glam that leaves you riveted even through the album's lulls. It's a great amalgam that sounds current without sounding at all dated.

Apple Takes 3rd Place in Global Smartphone Sales
Thursday, December 4th, 2008 at 9:40 AM - by Jeff Gamet
Apple's iPhone inched up to take third place in global smartphone sales during the third quarter of 2008, according to data from Gartner. The quarter also marked the fist time iPhone sales outpaced Microsoft Windows Mobile sales in the U.S. and around the world.
The combination iPod and smartphone managed to snag some 12.9 percent of the quarterly global market even as overall smartphone sales showed their weakest year-over-year growth to date. The iPhone's push into additional markets also helped increase sales more than four times compared to the same quarter last year.
In the U.S., the iPhone was second only to RIM's Blackberry with 25.4 percent of the market. The two companies combined accounted for more than 70 percent of U.S. smartphone sales.
Nokia held the top spot for worldwide smartphone sales with 42.4 percent of the market, but it did show a 3 percent year-over-year decline. Gartner principal analyst Roberta Cozza commented "Nokia is feeling the pressure from increased competition in the consumer smartphone market."
