EA Mobile Adds Facebook Connectivity to Scrabble, Announces More iPhone Games

EA Mobile on Tuesday updated its Scrabble iPhone game with Facebook connectivity and announced the titles it's bringing to the platform in 2009, including the previously announced Tiger Woods PGA Tour, Spore Creatures, and The Sims 3, as well as Madden NFL Football, Mystery Mania, Wolfenstein RPG, American Idol, Connect 4, Battleship, Need for Speed, Clue, and a new version of Monopoly (the previous one was the Here and Now: The World edition). Release dates and pricing were not made available.

Scrabble's Facebook integration allows players to begin and maintain games on either platform, even switching between the two as needed. Players can also connect and chat with Facebook friends from an iPhone or iPod touch as well as track scores and statistics.

Scrabble sells for US$4.99 at the App Store. iPhone software update 2.0 is required.

Not much new or creative in that list of games. When they guy from EA was onstage during the iPhone 3.0 software presentation, I was sadly not surprised that he specifically and repeatedly referred to EA’s customers as “consumers”. Not game-players, not customers. Just consumers.
