iMorphosis Demonstrates PodcastLink Device for Media Delivery
Friday, September 29th, 2006 at 3:00 PM - by John F. Braun
ONTARIO, CA -- iMorphosis announced this week PodcastLink, a system that allows you to enjoy podcasts without a computer, at this week's Podcast and Portable Media Expo. Alan Shih, VP of Engineering, gave us the lowdown on this interesting new device.
PodcastLink looks like an oversized iPod base, but it does much more than connect to and charge your iPod or other supported device. The PodcastLink also contains a network connection, which is used to both connect to and configure the device, as well as download new content directly to your media player. When you connect to the device via a standard Web browser, you can tell it which podcasts you'd like to download. You can even configure different sets of podcasts for different devices.

Once you configure PodcastLink, you no longer need a computer. The PodcastLink will periodically check for new content. If it is available, it will download it directly to your device, and even blink an LED to let you know you have something new to listen to.
The PodcastLink is currently in beta, but should be released in a couple of months for $99.
