iPhone 3G Voted Gadget of the Year by U.K.‘s Stuff Magazine
Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 at 4:00 PM - by John Martellaro
The readers of Stuff Magazine in the U.K. have named the Apple iPhone 3G the years best gadget. It beat strong competition, including the major game consoles.
Stuff Magazine said the iPhone 3G is "a faster, cleverer version of an already remarkable phone."
Competition came from Sonys PlayStagtion 3, Microsofts Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and the Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin speaker system.
Criteria included not just performance but the "cool factor," according to the magazines editor Fraser Macdonald.
"Having our readers vote for a number of the awards has been fascinating," he said. "They are the ones out there on the street buying gadgets and so they are a great barometer."
The Apple MacBook Air also won a best design award.
