iPhone Bills Not So Green

The first round of iPhone bills from AT&T is showing up in mailboxes, and some have gone well beyond 50 pages of paper. In addition, the first bill accounts two months plus the acitvation fee.
The AT&T bills detail each and every data communication, cites the quantity of data transferred for each transmission, and shows a $0.00 charge. This runs on for pages and pages, double sided. Some writers are suggesting that these massive quantities of paper mailed by AT&T, ironically, contradict the green image that Apple has been promoting lately.
With the least expensive plan at US$59.99/month, times two, plus the activation fee, and taxes, the first bill many users are getting comes to about US$180.00.
Apple is a company that’s been notorious in the past for passing on the printing of product brochures because they don’t like the cluttered look in their stores and conference booths -- as well as the implications for the environment. These massive paper bills from AT&T suggest that the hoped for percolation of Apple’s culture into the AT&T world is off to a slow start.
