iPod Class Action Battery Replacement Begins

Apple is set to start fulfilling additional claim submissions in the class action iPod battery settlement on April 7. Apple will start distributing US$50 store credit codes via email to qualifying first, second and third generation iPod claimants.
Apple will also email instructions to qualifying third generation iPod owners that opted for battery replacements. Anyone that submitted claims by December 31, 2005, can expect receive replacement instructions by July 2006.
The class action lawsuit, which was settled in August 2005, claimed that Apple used batteries that did not last as long as advertised in several iPod models.
