iPod Garage Changing to iProng
Wednesday, April 26th, 2006 at 4:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
iPod Garage announced on Wednesday that it is changing its name to iProng on May 8. According to a statement on the iPod Garage Web site, the decision is based on the fact that the iPod extends beyond Apples portable music player.
The statement says, in part, "The iPod will still represent one prong in our coverage, iTunes will represent another prong, and there will be more prongs to come. All of those prongs will be directly related to the iPod universe in some way. But now that its clear that the future of multimedia will be a multi-pronged one, we think our new name is rather appropriate: iProng."
iPodGarage joins other sites, such as iPodLounge (now iLounge), that have announced name changes, dropping the "iPod" from their names.
