iPod shuffle Chip Maker SigmaTel Wins Patent Ruling

SigmaTel, which makes audio processing chips used in the iPod shuffle and other MP3 players, on Tuesday won a favorable ruling against Actions Semiconductor Co., which, a judge agreed, had violated two of its patents. According to MarketWatch, MP3 players that use Actions’ chips, and hold 2GB or less of flash memory, cannot be imported into the U.S. as a result of the ruling.
