iTMS Japan Signs Victor Entertainment

Apple’s iTunes Music Store (iTMS) in Japan added the Victor Entertainment recording label on Wednesday, according to InfoWorld. The deal adds 18 albums with a total 209 tracks, covering primarily Japanese artists.

Although the addition of Victor Entertainment’s recordings is good news for Japanese iTMS customers, the music store is still laking, compared to the US version. Only a small number of Japanese labels are available, including Toshiba-EMI, Columbia Music Entertainment, and Avex Group Holdings.

Despite the limited selection of songs, Japan’s iTMS is doing well, and even sold 1 million songs during the first four days it was open.
