iTunes 8: Counting iPhone Apps
Sunday, September 14th, 2008 at 4:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
The iPod Summary tab in iTunes has offered a nice visual representation of how much space your music, video and photos take up, but other items, including applications have always been lumped together in the Other category. iTunes 8 finally added an Apps category so you can see how much space everything you download from the App Store is filling up on your iPhone or iPod touch.
You can see how much of your iPhone or iPod touchs memory is being used for third-party applications whenever your handheld is connected to your computer. Just select your device from the Devices list in iTunes 8, and then click the Summary tab. Now look for the green color strip in the Capacity thermometer bar.
