Mapping SDK mapNinja Helps Development of Location-Aware iPhone Apps

Useful Networks on Monday released mapNinja, a software development kit (SDK) that promises to let developers embed interactive map viewers in their iPhone and iPod touch applications with three lines of code.
Features include touch-enabled pan and zooming, customizable background loading tiles, vector and image graphics overlays, continuous re-centering in auto-tracking mode, and the ability to display satellite, road, and hybrid map types. mapNinja also includes connectivity to Microsoft Virtual Earth, CloudMade, and Useful Networks mapping services.
According to Useful Networks, previous options for including maps in iPhone applications included shutting down the software and linking to the device's built-in Maps application, using static images, or investing in a homemade map viewer.
Interested developers should contact Useful Networks via the mapNinja web site for information about licensing options, including a no-free, ad-supported license.
