In-Depth Review

RadTech ClearClip for iPod shuffle

Apple's iPod shuffle is so small and lightweight that clipping it to you or something you own doesn't serve quite as useful a purpose in most cases as clipping a larger iPod. For those who desire such functionality, RadTech's ClearClip is the best solution we've seen.

The simple design of the ClearClip makes inserting and removing the iPod shuffle a snap. It's a vastly superior and better looking design than the BruddyClip (2 stars, August 2005), although like the BruddyClip, but to a lesser extent, the ClearClip will leave a pair of very light surface scratches on the top of your shuffle where the shuffle comes in contact with the clip.

There's really not much more to say about the ClearClip: it securely holds onto your shuffle and the clip's size and tension is strong enough that you don't have to worry about inadvertently losing it. If there's one thing we could add to the ClearClip it would be the cable management notches that Bruddy's design features.

Depending on intended use, shuffle owners may also want to check out Marware's SportGrip (5 stars, September 2005), which costs $8 less and includes a carabiner. It's a different design with a slightly different purpose but may prove just as effective if not more so for some.
