AT&T: One Per Person, No iPhone Hoarding

If you are hoping to visit an AT&T store alone on June 29 to buy a shiny new iPhone, don’t plan on purchasing more than one. So said AT&T in an email sent to people that signed up for more iPhone information.
The policy is an attempt to help prevent people from hoarding and reselling iPhones at higher prices, but it also means that anyone planning on legitimately purchasing units for themselves and a significant other or family member will likely need to bring that person along.
AT&T also launched an iPhone store finder Web page so prospective customers can track down retail locations near them that will have Apple’s combination iPod and smartphone available.
The iPhone will be available for purchase at 6 p.m. local time on Friday, June 29. It will be available at Apple and AT&T retail stores as well as the Apple online store. The 4GB model will be priced at US$499, and the 8GB model will cost $599.
