AppleCare for iPhone Introduced

Apple has announced the availability of AppleCare for the iPhone. The program extends the hardware support to two years.
Currently, iPhone owners receive one year of hardware coverage and two years of technical support. The AppleCare program extends the hardware coverge to two years from the date of purchase.

There is one caveat. Apple is not authorized to sell the iPhone AppleCare to residents of Alabama, Connecticut, Nevada and Wyoming.
The AppleCare must be purchased before the end of the original one year warranty. Note that Apple recently announced a battery replacement program for the iPhone which will cost US$85.95. Customers may want to look at both options carefully, understand what’s covered, and weigh the relative advantages.
