Every Day: The Best of the Verve Years

Black Sabbath, The White Stripes, The Stooges. There aren't many bands worth their salt that want to be compared to other bands, but when I listen to Wolfmother's self-titled American debut, I can
- Led Zeppelin
- This album bears every flavor of genius from the five records that came before. It is, I believe, the band's finest. With Physical Graffiti, Zep came raging back to their musical home territory -- har

Beck is the modern master of the groove, and Guero is merely the latest example of this. From the opening power chords of "E-Pro," to the Pac-Man cuteness of "Girl," to the dirge-like lullab

C|Net: Apple & Google at Center of Telecom Market in 2007
Tuesday, December 25th, 2007 at 3:00 PM - by Bryan Chaffin
Apple and Google, not Verizon, AT&T, or even Nokia, were at the center of the telecom market, according to a year-end retrospective at C|Net. Citing Apples iPhone, as well as Googles Android open mobile phone operating system, C|Net reporter Maggie Reardon wrote that these two companies were pushing the market forward, even if neither had revolutionized anything.
The initial hiccups Apple experienced with the iPhone, such as the controversial price cut and initial problems signing up with AT&T, were not given a pass in the article, but it was the hype, anticipation, and the overall innovation of the device that made it important.
As for Google, Ms. Reardon said that Android is going to be a big player in the telephony market going forward. Speculation and interest in Googles involvement in an upcoming auction also enhanced the companys perceived position as a (possible) telecom company.
"To be fair," wrote Ms. Reardon, "moves by Apple and Google in 2007 havent revolutionized the wireless phone market just yet. AT&T and Verizon Wireless are still the dominant carriers -- and Nokia is still the No. 1 mobile-phone maker -- but change is on the horizon, and small steps are already being taken."
