TiVo Will Add Internet Video Feeds via RSS
Sunday, January 6th, 2008 at 3:00 PM - by John Martellaro
LAS VEGAS - TiVo announced in Monday that its subscribers will soon be able to watch video on the Internet on their TVs through the TiVo video recording service. Its part of TiVos strategy to use their DVRs capabilities to bridge the Internet and conventional TV.
The new service will be available in March, according to the Associated Press and will cost US$24.95 for new users. Those users with a current "Season Pass" will be able to subscribe, via RSS feeds to Web-based video.
The announcement is just one of many new products and services announced lately that seek to exploit the synergy between TV and the Internet. While those choices could be confusing to the average consumer, TiVo owners are likely to be delighted.
