Orb Live Events Brings Live Broadcasts to iPhone

Orb Networks announced Friday the availability of Orb Live Events, an iPhone app that allows users to view streaming video content from third party providers.
Today's announcement is aimed at two different targets: Consumers who want to watch streaming video on their iPhones, and media companies, sporting groups, and other video owners wanting a way to stream their content to those iPhone and iPod touch users.
The company is currently offering a rotating selection of various streaming webcams (for instance, the Monterrey Aquarium's webcam), and is working with companies to bring live and other video content to the platform-within-a-platform.
Orb Live Events can deliver video over WiFi, 3G, or EDGE networks, and the company is offering content owners the ability to have their own branded version of the application.
Orb Live Events is free, and is available today through the App Store.
