Apple TV Has Solution Providers Excited
Wednesday, March 14th, 2007 at 3:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
The pending release of the Apple TV home entertainment appliance has solution providers excited since many expect the diminutive box to be a big seller in the digital home market. CRN reports that solution providers, or companies that support the products they sell, are seeing increased client demand for support with electronic products outside of traditional business needs, and Apple TV is likely to be a device their clients are attracted to.
Steve Feldman, president of the solution provider Graphtech, said "[Apple TV is] more of a consumer-level product, but our business clients are looking for us to help them with home entertainment and networking."
"As we push the concept of managed services, executives are going to want us to support them in home environments," he added. "They are already asking us to support PDAs. Anything that is connected they want us to support."
That support translates into a healthier bottom line for solution providers. And products that clients see as "cool," like Apple TV, will draw more people in the provider's stores where they are more likely buy products.
Charlie Thomas, director of corporate sales for the New York-based Apple Partner TekServe, commented "Apple is going through a renaissance and we are benefiting from it."
