Apple’s Rubinstein Expects Apple to Sell Over 340 Million iPods
Monday, September 26th, 2005 at 3:00 PM - by Brad Cook
Jon Rubinstein, Apple's senior vice-president in charge of the iPod division, expects the company to eventually sell more than 340 million iPods. That's the number of Walkmans sold by Sony, and Rubinstein was asked the question in an interview with the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung. (The article is in German.)
Covering that article for Softpedia, editor Alex Andreescu writes: "In Rubinstein's opinion, the iPod won't suffer many significant changes over the following years and it's unlikely that Apple will developer a cell phone division.
"Rubinstein believes that it's better to have a specialized device and he said that Motorola ROKR is not a competitor for iPod, but only an iTunes compatible cell phone."
