Etn expands flagship set-top radio with Sirius, iPod support

Legendary radio maker Etn Corporation was at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week demonstrating the Sound 101, the company's latest Made-for-iPod radio.

The Sound 101 expands on the company's Sound 100 offering by adding Sirius satellite radio support and an iPod dock. Other features include a high-sensitivity digital Phased-Locked Loops Tuner (PLL) for AM and FM radio, alarm clock functionality (alarm, sleep, snooze), 3.5mm aux-in and line-out, and remote.

Acoustics are powered by a single channel AB amplifier that drives a 3-inch full range, high-fidelity mono speaker driver with oxidation magnet. Power is rated at 3Wrms at 10% THD with a frequency response of 80Hz to 20KHz.

The Sound 101 will be available five colors (white, grey, black, red, and blue) when it goes on sale in the second quarter for $250.

For customers interested in a stereo solution that lacks radio functionality, Etn continues to offer the Sound 50, a dedicated iPod docking solution with four speakers and remote for $100. It is available in black and white.
