Hon Hai to Build iPhone

Industry sources are reporting that Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd has been awarded contracts from Apple Computer to manufacture the fabled iPhone. According to Forbes, the sources claim that Hon Hai is to build 12 million mobile phone hand sets that are also portable music players.
Supposedly, Apple's mobile phone is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2007.
Hon Hai already builds some iPod models for Apple. Earlier this year, the company was the focus of claims of sweatshop working conditions for employees on its iPod assembly lines. Apple investigated the allegations, and has been working with the factory to ensure employees are treated properly.
