EA Publishes 3 New iPhone Games: Monopoly, Yahtzee, SimCity

Electronic Art division EA Mobile on Wednesday published three new iPhone games: Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition (US$7.99), Yahtzee Adventures ($4.99), and Will Wright's seminal classic, SimCity ($9.99).

Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition allows players to shake their iPhone or iPod touch to roll the dice. The game is an international version of the decades-old classic, replacing, for example, Baltic Avenue with Istanbul and the Race Car with a Sumo Wrestler. Other features include a 3D view of the board, "Did You Know?" Chance and Community Chest cards that impart fun facts, and Wi-Fi multi-player mode.

Yahtzee Adventures is an update of another beloved board game. It features the same accelerometer-based dice rolling as Monopoly Here & Now, as well as four game modes and play against the computer or human opponents with pass 'n' play.

Finally, SimCity comes to the iPhone with a tutorial, Starter Cities, five disasters (UFO, fire, tornado, earthquake, and toxic cloud), six types of zones, three difficulty settings, customizable procedural terrain generation, and the ability to play with small, medium, and large cities.
