Filemark Maker Moves Files to iPhone for Viewing
Tuesday, July 24th, 2007 at 4:00 PM - by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
Insanely Great Tees has released FileMark Maker, a small Mac application that converts a file into a data URL which can then be bookmarked and synched to an iPhone -- where the file can then be viewed.
Previously, if the user wanted to place a file on the iPhone for viewing, it had to be e-mailed or placed on a Website for viewing. FileMark Maker stores the file inside a bookmark where it can then be synched to an iPhone and viewed at much higher quality than, say, a photo. A demo showing the enhanced resolution is on their Website.
File formats supported are: .doc, .xls, .rtf, .txt, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .pdf, or .html.The operation is local to the Mac and iPhone, so everything works without the need to be on the AT&T network.
The vendor makes takes no responsibility for what might happen for large files and suggests that they remain small. They recommend Safari bookmarks be backed up before this tool is used.
FileMark Maker is free.
