  • Abnormal Anonymous

    • 8 out of 10
    • Congo Norvell
    • Very few albums manage to capture snapshots of a quality of life in the manner that Congo Norvell's sophomore record, "Abnormals Anonymous," does.

Comparisons to the Velvet Underground are

  • Now Here Is Nowhere

    • 10 out of 10
    • Secret Machines
    • The Secret Machines' inaugural album, Now Here is Nowhere is both old and new in its sonic assault. The trio's surprisingly big sound evokes Pink Floyd (without ever sounding like any Pink

    • Revolting Cocks

    • Belle & Sebastian
    • The Life Pursuit is a sort of Reeses Peanut Butter Cup. You get Belle & Sebastian's peanut butter (its wistful, often irresistible pop) dipped in a 'Have A Nice Day!' and glam 70s chocol

Vista Perfection for iPhone Withdrawn After Microsoft Legal Threat

In May, ModMyiFone.com released VistaPerfection, a mod for jailbroken iPhones that replaces the iPhone UI with an interface that looks like Vista. Last week, the publisher withdrew the application after receiving a legal threat from Microsoft.

The Modmyifone Website now has a note: "DUE TO A BIG FAT LEGAL LETTER THAT WAS SENT FROM MICROSOFT, I WILL NO LONGER BE MAKING/DISTRIBUTING VISTA THEMES.

"Thank You to everyone for your support and god bless."

It’s not unreasonable for Microsoft to protect its Vista IP, and it’s unlikely that many iPhone users would jailbreak their iPhone just to make it look like Vista. Even so, the demonstration of skill by the author was impressive.

Recently, analysts have pondered whether Microsoft is paving the way for its own competing Zune smartphone.
