- Massive Attack
"Black Milk" knocks me off my feet in this collection of moody and eclectic songs. Massive Attack uses samples and keyboards in a very unique way, but not all the songs pack the same punch.
- Phish
- This quasi-concept album (the only of its kind) from these Vermonters finally showcased their ability to convey a message with a studio album, whereas previously they only succeeded in doing so live.
- Cake
Pressure Chief, Cake's latest album, didn't immediately grab me. In fact, it took perhaps half a dozen listens before I started truly enjoying it. Any

iDJ Helps DJs Add iPod Playlists to the Mix
Wednesday, July 27th, 2005 at 3:00 PM - by Brad Cook
Numark Industries has released the iDJ two-channel mixing console, which features docking stations for a pair of iPods. In addition to large navigation controls below each iPod, the iDJ includes inputs for adding other devices on both channels, and its spindle receptacle enables a DJ to place it on a turntable if their space is limited.
iDJ also features a three-band equalizer with gain control on both channels, a dedicated microphone input with tone and level control, a USB port for hooking it to a computer and support for the iPod's recording capabilities, so that users can record voice memos and other spoken files.
In addition, iDJ offers quarter- and eighth-inch microphone outputs, a master output LED meter, a crossfader with fader start control, a cue tone and cue source selector for managing music sources and an S-Video output for connecting to iPod photo or the latest color iPods.
Numark said it will ship the iDJ in the third quarter for US$399.
